Abstract
A major concern in industry is the motivation of the assenbly line worker. This paper addresses some of the problems encountered by management when attempting to motivate these workers. Job enlargement, job enrichment, and involvement are discussed as potential solutions to alienation and as ways of increasing worker motivation. These tactics can supply the foundation on which a manager may build productivity increases writhout alienating his workers.
