Abstract :
Inset dielectric guide (IDG) is an alternative to dielectric guides such as image or insular guides for millimeter-wave and antenna applications. A simple detector diode mount is examined, and its performance in IDG is compared to that achieved when the same diode is mounted in a rectangular metal waveguide. The performance in IDG is good, although it is a little worse than in the waveguide due to some radiation from the diode mount.<>
