Abstract :
An optically controlled microwave oscillator is demonstrated using MMIC compatible design techniques. The oscillator uses an optically controlled active inductor as a tunable feedback element in a two-port common gate FET circuit configuration. Experimental results are presented for a pulsed mode of operation that is triggered by illuminating the active feedback circuit.<>
