Abstract :
On April Fool´s Day (April 1, 2009), the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine cartoonist, Tayfun Akgul, had the opening of his “outdoor” cartoon exhibit on the campus of Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Turkey. This exhibit was not an ordinary show: Large-scale cartoons (10 cartoons, totaling 500 square meters) were hung from the buildings (see Figures 1–4). All cartoons were originally published in Tayfun´s cartoon book, Bilimum (in Turkish, by the Cartoonists´ Association of Turkey, 2004.) The exhibit was to remain open until June 2009.
