Abstract
A novel transmission scheme is described that allows transmission spans beyond the usual dispersion limit. Experimental results for 10 Gbit/s transmission at 1.5 mu m via standard fibre are presented. The record distance of 125.8 km is bridged with a directly modulated laser.
