            Abstract :
This paper shows that there is radiation that can emerge from a cut on the narrow wall of a waveguide, but this can be suppressed by a suitable choke. The TE10 rectangular waveguide mode is maintained by the choke, but the TE10 mode cannot be maintained in the subject with a long continuous slot.
