Abstract
This paper describes experimental and theoretical considerations on switching characteristics of a magnetically controlled superconducting switch in an experimental circuit which is composed of the superconducting gate wire (which has two state of on and off), a load resistor and an AC current source of sinusoidal wave. When the frequency of the AC current source is low, the switching characteristics can be understood by the characteristics for a DC current source which is already reported. When the frequency is high, they cannot. It leads that the specific heat of the gate wire must be considered, however it need not for the case of a DC current source. This paper also shows a half-wave rectifier circuit by use of the switch. We show the experimental results and the conditions that the circuit can be operated as a rectifier circuit
