  • Abstract
Although beryllium copper alloy UNS C17510 has been in commercial use for many years, recent advances in metallurgical processing have led to a version that has demonstrated improved performance. The alloy´s combination of strength and electrical conductivity allow it to withstand forces from high magnetic fields as well. Or better than other alloy or composite systems. It is produced as large plate, thin sheet, shaped wire and in other forms, and it offers versatility and dimensional stability in fabrication and service. This paper summarizes results of recent characterizations of mechanical properties, physical attributes, and fabrication characteristics of interest to magnet designers and users
