Abstract :
This paper reports the design of a miniaturized microwave amplitude equalizer working over a wide range of frequencies. A positive slope equalizer is designed using broadside coupled lines along with cross coupling between input and output ports. Based on this proposed structure, wideband positive slope equalizer working over 1GHz to 18GHz has been analyzed and designed. The equalizer performance was analytically computed based on circuit models and compared against the full wave simulations. The proposed equalizer has been manufactured and measured. Measured results are presented in this paper. The equalizer has positive gain slope (-7.5dB to -1.5dB) from 1GHz to 18GHz. The Size of the miniaturized wide band equalizer is 20mm×10mm×10mm.
