  • Abstract
    The paper presents a self-steered algorithm that can be used to correct pointing errors in microwave communications. The algorithm is based on the fact that the output power of an optimized beamformer achieves a local maximum if the steering vector coincides with that of the desired signal, as long as the interferences are outside the mainbeam. By approximating the steering vector by its first-order Taylor series expansion in terms of the steering angles, the maximization process reduces to a two-dimensional optimization problem.
