Visual media production

The present editorial introduces a special issue which presents extended versions of selected papers from the 1st IEE European Conference on Visual Media Production (CVMP 2004) held 15-16 March 2004 in London. The scope of the conference was in the convergence of image processing, computer vision and computer graphics with application to the production of visual media. The intention of the organisers was to create a forum that fills the gap in Europe between high profile academically oriented conferences and more commercially oriented industrial showcases.
