Abstract :
A transient electromagnetic field analysis by the method of moments (MoM) has been used to simulate the propagation of high-frequency PD pulses in electric power equipment. The analysis of transient electromagnetic fields described here enables the propagation of high-frequency signals in electric power equipment to be displayed. The motivation for this work is the expectation that such computational methods will provide an improved basis for the application of PD-based diagnostics to power apparatus.
