Abstract
Accommodating people who have mental health needs in the workplace is now a requirement by law through the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2002. It is also written in the Act that disabilities or difficulties should be anticipated, rather than simply waiting until they present themselves. This requires employers to make reasonable provision ahead of the event for foreseeable cases of difficulty or disability. Mental ill health is such a case.
