Abstract
FM-CW radar range measurement by a CO2 laser is reported. Nonlinear variation of the laser power output is obtained when the reflected signal is mixed within the laser cavity. This variation is attributed to frequency pulling/pushing and to power-dependent refractive index changes in the laser medium.
