Abstract :
As indicated in ITU-T SG XVIII Rec. G.826 (July 1993 version) an important study is the relationship between the synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) path level performance monitoring and the block based parameters. The measure of errored blocks using one second aggregated counts of bit interleaved parity (BIP) failures, as proposed in the Annex 3 of Rec. G.826, is reported and analyzed with Poisson error distribution and error burst distribution
