Abstract :
A coupled-waveguide grating resonator is proposed and analyzed for implementing a tunable narrowband wavelength filter. Exchange Bragg reflection between two strongly coupled dissimilar waveguides is utilized in the filter design. The input and output (reflected) signals are spatially separated so that the device may be suitable as a signal dropping filter in a unidirectional ring photonic network.<>
