Abstract :
The paper briefly presents the unsymmetrical control system provided for the ESCOM 132 and 400 kV static compensators and describes its interaction with the ac system with reference to i) parallel operation of compensators, ii) second harmonic resonance problem, iii) fault clearing by sinqle-phase auto-reclose, and iv) voltage control.
