Abstract :
A new coherent technique for optical coding and decoding based on spread spectrum principles is described. PSK modulation format is employed along with delayed self-homodyne detection. This technique is described theoretically and demonstrated experimentally. An optical fiber code division multiple access system employing the above spread spectrum technique is proposed.<>
