Abstract :
This article describes a network independent computer program for the computation of electrical transients. The program can contain voltage sources, current sources, lumped resistors, lumped capacitors and lumped inductors. A special feature of the program is that it can also contain one or more arc-models to simulate the behavior of power circuit-breakers. The program is used in KEMA´s High-Power Laboratory to compare test circuits and to study the influence of test circuits on the behavior of circuit-breakers. It is written in Fortran 77 to run on a mainframe computer and in Basic to run on desktop computers.
