Abstract :
An equivalent magnetization surface current approach for solving 3-D leakage fields is developed. This method is first aided by the results of magnetic circuit calculation to obtain the major magnetic flux density distributed in the core and then the equivalent magnetization surface currents representing the magnetization of the core are found. The 3-D leakage fields in the space can be determined by these equivalent magnetization surface currents. The accuracy of the results is acceptable. The method is time saving and straight forward.
