Abstract :
The commercial availability of Metglas 2605S-2 amorphous metal alloy from Metglas Products Division of Allied Corporation has created the possibility of a step function reduction in no-load losses of distribution transformers. An intensive type (reliability) testing program was undertaken to verify that distribution transformers using amorphous metal cores can be built to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
