Abstract :
An instrumentation system to measure effects of geomagnetically induced current (GIC) has been developed for application to the Alaska intertie. This paper describes unique design aspects of this instrumentation system and the parameters which are measured. Application of this instrumentation to an electric power distribution system will result in quantification of GIC effects on that specific system.
