Abstract
The problems inherent in providing cost effective protection and sectionalisation of medium voltage overhead distribution systems are discussed. A new electronic automatic sectionalising device is described and is proposed as an effective solution for many such problems. Co-ordination with existing protective devices is briefly dealt with and an outline given of possible future developments in this new field.
