Abstract :
An efficient beamforming structure similar to a generalized sidelobe canceller is derived from the soft constrained minimum variance (SCMV) method of B. Van Veen (see ibid., vol.39, no.9, p.1964-72, 1991). The structure greatly reduces the computational load of the SCMV method and provides insight into the nature of SCMV beamforming
