Abstract :
In this issue, scientific programming celebrates freedom and democracy with a special polling place edition. This article deals with an interview with David Jefferson about his petascale computing initiative at Lawrence Liver more National Laboratory (LLNL) is presented. Besides his expertise in supercomputing, Jefferson has taken an interest in the subject of electronic voting machines. The author also presents an assortment of interesting quotations about freedom and the price we pay to keep it.
