Abstract
A semiconductor-doped glass optical waveguide modulator has been fabricated and characterised. Semiconductor-doped glass is a widely available material that has recently been shown to have interesting electroabsorptive properties. The work presented represents progress towards a practical switching device with significant depth of modulation.
