Abstract
A new transmitter-receiver for power system protection based on a microprocessor is investigated. Smooth method and correlation detection are applied to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. The experimental results confirm that the new transmitter-receiver will increase the ratio of signal to noise by a factor of four, compared with present techniques.
