Abstract :
The interaction of Nd-Fe-B-type alloys with hydrogen gas was investigated for different alloy additions (Nb, V, Ga) and solidification microstructures. Using a thermopiezic analysis (TPA) system, the hydrogen contents of the alloys were determined as a function of temperature in the range 20°C-800°C. It was shown that such variations are related strongly to the alloy composition and to the microstructure. From such data, it has been possible to obtain information on the phase distribution of the alloy samples
