Abstract :
A mechanical class-E amplifier using a low ´ON´ resistance series metal contact microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switch is proposed. By adopting such a switch, the amplifier may obtain extremely high efficiency, as well as ultra-high power gain (2000). The feasibility of the concept has been demonstrated by prototype design and measurement of the mechanical class-E structure.
