Abstract :
Recent advances in self-validating sensors and statistical process control algorithms have allowed a hierarchical process condition monitoring system to be developed. The operation of such a system is considered for two typical fault cases using a benchmark simulation. In both cases, robust fault detection and diagnosis is demonstrated. Furthermore, it is shown how control and monitoring systems may utilise condition information to ensure continued process operation.
