Abstract :
The recommendation to modify the aerial lines with the lightening protection have already begun. Grounding the OHGW at every fourth pole, at tap points, and at the end of the lines is now in the implementation phase with the intent of getting the modification done before the next lightening sensor. Additional power quality analysis for the remaining well to determine their "health" has been planted, with waveform analysis also being planned as a normal maintenance tool. The addition of 24 kV harmonics filters for power factor correction has been funded and plans to address the future wells and proposed harmonic control using different phase connections is also being considered. Reprogramming the existing SCR VSDs to allow a better efficiency and harmonic generation minimization is in the process of being implemented as well-with only incidental labor costs. High-resistance grounding changes are also under advisement for the down hole ESPs.
