Abstract :
Professor James F. Greenleaf (M\´73-SM\´84-F\´88) is the recipient of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society Ultrasonics Committee Rayleigh Award. The Rayleigh Award was created by Ad Com in 2001 for meritorious achievements and contributions in the field of ultrasonics. The 2004 award was presented to Professor Greenleaf at the 2004 IEEE International Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control joint 50th Anniversary conference in Montreal on Aug. 24, 2004. The citation on the plaque reads: "For pioneering and continuing contributions to medical diagnostic research and education." A brief professional biography is included.
