Abstract
A novel flat-plate antenna, obtained by cutting an inverted-L slit in a narrow metal plate or by stamping from a metal sheet, for wireless local area network (WLAN) operation in the 2.4 GHz band (2400-2484 MHz) is presented. The antenna has a simple structure and is easily fed by using a 50 Ω coaxial feed line. A prototype of the proposed antenna with a narrow width of 3 mm is constructed and studied.
