Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. We demonstrate a new 2-DoF wearable haptic display LinkTouch which provides a high fidelity force vector sensation at the fingerpad. Additionally, the device is capable of representing the transitional state from noncontact to contact condition. Device suggests new possibility to feel realism of haptic interaction in VR environment. During the demonstration user will wear two LinkTouch devices on index finger and thumb. User will interact with 3D textured virtual objects. When virtual finger touches object the force vector is generated at corresponding location on fingerpad. The interaction of finger with water can be interestingly rendered with LinkTouch. After user breaks the contact with surface, the drop of water sticks to the finger because of surface tension. User rotates the finger with drop freely and LinkTouch generates sensation of drop sliding on the finger. Additionally, AR game with locomotion pattern presentation (jumping of character between fingers, crawling, flying) will be provided.
