Abstract :
This paper is intended to investigate the application of the Blackboard Model Architecture to the design tool integration problem in electromagnetic device design. The BlackBoard for Computational Analysis and Design (BBCAD) is a hybrid knowledge-based system which generates a systematic method of integrating “stand-alone” design tools, together with an automatic method of ensuring that, if a change is made to the design, all the relevant design tools are re-run. An example of a simple optimization loop is given
