Abstract :
Array antennas from tapered slotline elements are continuously studied for many years. Recent published research on dual-polarized stripline fed tapered slotline elements array antenna demonstrate the high performance of this antenna. The progress in the radiating array design is followed in our paper with feeding structures that feed the radiating array. The final goal is to realize a complete dual-polarized multibeam antenna system with the same capabilities of the radiating array. The feeding structures presented are Rotman lenses with the same tapered slotline elements as the lens ports, to meet the wideband operation of the radiating array. The paper presents a dual-polarized Rotman lens, appropriate to feed a one-dimensional (1-D) scanning system. The paper also presents a one-polarized Rotman lens that can be used to feed a 1-D, or a two-dimensional (2-D) scanning system, by using interlaced sets of Rotman lenses. The paper demonstrate a 3:1 bandwidth and 40 deg scan from the lens with tapered slotline elements as lens ports.
