Abstract
The paper presents a new load flow model. This model is a hybrid version of the Z-bus and second order load flow models. The memory requirement for the new method is almost of the same order as that of the Fast Decoupled Load Flow (FDLF). The total solution time by this method is of the same order as that of the FDLF method for well behaved systems but is considerably lets for illconditioned systems. Moreover, the new hybrid model is much more reliable than the FDLF mthod particularly-for illconditioned Systems for which the FDLF method fails to provide a solution
