Abstract :
Two business personal communications services (PCS) wireless trials conducted during 1992 and 1993 have added to understanding the value of wireless services to the business user. Wireless PCS service delivery was accomplished using the existing analog cellular service coupled with an in-building microcell. Surveys administered to wireless service users and their customers indicated both a reduction in “phone tag” and mutual productivity gains of between 5 and 10% (2 to 4 hr/week). In addition, the trial results showed that PCS services impact many people inside and outside of the organization and not just the user of the service
