Abstract :
Magnetic field induction from transmission and distribution power lines is discussed and shown to induce significant voltages on buried irrigation pipelines. Field tests are reported verifying that objectionable voltage levels can be induced on irrigation pipelines from distribution circuits during unbalanced conditions. Estimating curves are presented for transmission and sub-transmission power lines and mitigation methods are discussed as applied to irrigation pipelines for transmission and distribution power line interaction
