Abstract :
A review is presented of the computing hardware and analytical techniques, both existing and futuristic, that can be considered for use in the formidable task of bulk power system reliability evaluations. A comparison of the handling, speed, and cost of the machines and of the associated calculating techniques is given and several promising combinations of devices and methods are identified.
