Abstract :
The use of high-strength polymer insulators is examined and discussed with respect to new construction and maintenance techniques which these insulators have introduced to the industry. Also discussed are new uses for fiberglass-reinforced polymer insulators as construction tools, rigging devices and as solutions to emergency restoration of transmission lines.
