    This article has attempted to summarize the rapid evolution of automotive electronics during the period of 1970 to 1995. Also, a brief description has been given of the most promising products that the public will see in vehicles at the turn of the century. Future frontiers in automotive electronics will continue to present opportunities for circuit and device engineers to contribute innovative new technical solutions
