Abstract :
This paper describes the design of the heat exchangers and fans for a low noise emissions FOA transformer cooler. The cooler sound level was to be no greater thaan 57 dBA while dissipating 200 kW and 47 dBA at 100 kW heat dissipation. The cooler size was constrained to a base area of 5 feet by 7 feet (1.52 m by 2.13 m) and a height of 25 feet (7.62 m).
