Abstract
Load management--the deliberate control or influencing of customer loads in order to shift the time and amount of use of electric power and energy-- has recently become an important part of power system planning. Standard equipment and procedures have not yet been established even though many research, development and demonstration projects are being conducted. This bibliography identifies some key projects and reports summarizing the state-of-the-art and ongoing research in three load management technologies: direct load control, voluntary load control, and thermal storage.
