Abstract :
The increasing cost of fossil fuels has caused a renewed interest in cogeneration alternatives to conventional power plants. The feasibility of a cogeneration plant hinges on the balance of steam and power obtained for a particular application, the terms of purchase and sale of power to the local utility, and the investment required. This paper presents a typical system analysis and design procedure for developing a cost effective cogeneration facility.
