Abstract :
Enhancement of SCR commutation in inverter fed synchronous motors by the addition of a pole face compensating winding is explored. Design oriented algebraic performance equations are developed for the inverter fed synchronous machine including a compensating winding. Derived performance curve plots which compare the machine performance with and without the compensator are shown.
