Abstract :
This paper deals with new design criteria used by Hydro-Quebec for structural design of transmission lines since 1978. These were applied to recent 735 kV James-Bay transmission lines and consist of concepts such as limit loads, post failure analysis, sequence of failure, cost of failure, ..., etc.
