Abstract
This paper describes how cable ampacity is influenced by firestop materials for various cable and firestop configurations. Both solid silicone elastomer and silicone RTV foam elastomer firestops were evaluated. To determine cable derating factors, laboratory tests were performed with the cable tray fully loaded to obtain the maximum operating temperatures. A finite element computer model was developed and verified with the laboratory test data.
