  • Abstract
Station originated outages resulting in line and/or generating unit outages can occur in a power system because of faults on breakers, stuck breaker conditions, bus faults, etc. They are normally of short duration but can result in multiple circuit and/or generating unit outages. The effect of such outages on reliability indices of a composite generation and transmission system can be significant.
