  • Abstract
This paper constitutes an interim report of the PEEC Task Force on Power System Textbooks on the availability and adequacy of existing textbooks and reference books on typical electric power systems subjects. The report explores reasons for the present glut of books in certain areas while there is a virtual lack of books on other important (primarily graduate-level) subjects. The report further discusses alternate methods of publishing materials needed to educate power system engineers at the undergraduate and graduate level. The last part of the paper discusses future efforts of the Task Force on Power System Textbooks to develop model outlines for books on various power system topics, based on the input of experts from academia and industry.
